I had that same idea that I have been kicking around. I am on the other end of this but I am wanting to purchase a home that needs fixing up to let a renter do the fixing with an option to buy. GOOD IDEA. WATCH OUT FOR A CHANGE OF HEART WHEN YOU GET THE OLD PLACE FIXED UP AND YOU ARE READY TO MAKE THE DEAL. I SAW SOMEBODY DO A LOT OF WORK AND THE LANDLORD RENEGED ON THE HANDSHAKE DEAL AND GAVE THE TENANT NOTICE THAT SHE IS PUTTING IT UP FOR SALE. THAT WASN'T THE ORIGINAL DEAL BUT THE PROPERTY IS WORTH MORE NOW BECAUSE IT IS CLEANED UP BY THE TENANT AND ALSO DUE TO THE MARKET INFLATING THE PRICE. ALL THAT WORK FOR NAUGHT.
