My stove makes a clicking noise when pre-heating. The sound comes from the top of the stove..maybe a switch?

I am wondering if this is a wiring problem or something in the stove itself. The stove is new and is being used in a cottage that was recently wired. Not sure if it is an electrical problem or a problem with the stove.

Answers:
Is it a gas or electric stove?

If it is gas then it is the ignitor engaging.
