Wear is the filter to my Lindsay water softner so I can clean it out. do i need a special tool.?

i dont think there is a filter i think there is something you are sopposed to add to the tank. I would contact customer service for the company that makes the water softner.

The tank is the filter. It contains zeolite that filters the minerals from the water. When recharging the zeolite latches onto the salt and releases the other minerals (brine water). When the salt rinse starts, the salt is then released to begin filtering the minerals again. The only place to clean is the salt bed because it will collect dirt in the bottom from the salt bags. Zeolite lasts for many years before it is needed to be replaced.
