which is better, ridge venting or turbine venting?

Answers:
I strongly recommend a "shingle over ridge vent". More air is allowed to flow and vent the hottest portion of the roof 'the ridge'. When it is properly installed it will have 2 nails every 5 5/8Th's. This gives it a greater wind rating than a turbine vent. Most people will agree that ridge vent is more aesthetic as well.

Make sure that you have proper soffit ventilation as well.

I agree the shingle over ridge vent works great, providing you vent the soffits and gable ends

Dade County, FL, which has some of the strictest building codes anywhere, will only allow ridge vents on any new construction with a shingle roof.
Every one has gone to ride vents for appearance, cost and lack of need to maintain.
i think ridge vents are ugly. i would go with a power vent. they dont use hardly any electricity, they are low profile and will vent your attic way better than any ridge or turbine vent will.
ridge vent.
