I have a 240 JD w/38" deck, the discharge side doesn't cut like its suppose to. I have new and sharp blades on the deck. It leaves the center of the cut like it was never cut. The tech @ JD told me thats the way that model worked. They've had complaints B-4 but no real solutions.

You could try taking the blades to a place that sharpens them and ask if they can take the edge all the way down the blade. I don't know if that would work but, it is a possibility.

Make sure you have the right length of blade. If your blades are too short, they won't meet in the middle, and that will leave an uncut strip. You may also want to make sure your blade is not on upside down. Good Luck.
