Are smoke detector mountings uniform?

My house has complicated wired smoke detectors and a couple of them "seem" to not be working correctly. I want to replace them, but I don't want to go through the hassle of installing unsullied mounts to the ceilings. Are the mountings uniform? Meaning if I buy unmarked hard wired detectors, will they purely twist on to the mountings that are already in that?

Answers:    most of the mounting rings are different. I would bye the same brand as the ones already ther and hope they are interchangeable save it isn't all that complicated or tough, may take roughly speaking 3 to 5 minutes for each. All the holes will row up with the ceiling boxes as mos of them enjoy elongated holes. For best results and guarantee to work dont mix and match detectors, hang on to them all impossible to tell apart as they read each other . A mongrel brand may or will transport a wrong signal and set them all bad. Most of these have freestyle backup so be sure to change them at least possible once a year or earlier if the house be with out electricity for a few hours sour and on during the year. Most Fire departments say to renovate the batteries when you changeover the clocks in the Fall
probobly not unless by same capitalist, and even then probobly a different model. It solitary takes a second to screw within a new mount supplied near your new detector.
