If you have the little "sugar" ants, you could have one of two types, one is attracted to sweets (sugar) and the other to protiens (like butter, or meat). Either way there are a variety of products that can kill the ones in you house but the real problem is where they are coming from. You should look around and under your house to find where the are getting in from and then kill them there. Terre (tm) makes a pretty good product that you sprinkle outside your house (around teh perimeter) that has worked well for me. There are a variety of products theat do similar things. go to your local hardware store and ask them. Even if they don't have something that works for you they can put you in touch with an exterminator that they trust.

sprinkle corn meal along the trail. when they eat it the corn meal expands and kills them.
dress one up in a george bush costume and the rest won`t eat with him. OR........ There are several good commercial ant killers out there. They gather up small grains of poisoned food and take it back to the nest and it wipes em out.
If you put a lid of syrup on the floor the ants will go to it and they will try to drink it but they will get stuck and you can just trough them away. It is also safe to use if you have little kids or in side pets!! It works better than any thing that I have ever tryed!
