Has anyone had problems with a Kenmore refrigerator?
Answers:
Kenmore is a good quality brand. Your unit may have been damaged in shipping to your home or even to the Sears store that you purchased it from. If it spent a long time on it's side that could have damaged the motor if it wasn't allowed enough time to redistribute properly before it was turn on and the coolant could very well have leaked out due to the same situation. I'm not positive about Frig's, but it kill air conditioners if you leave them too long in any position other than upright. It should be an easy fix for them. Bad thing happen to good appliances randomly. Don't let it discourage your selection if the unit fit your needs and was fairly priced for it's features. Sears is a very good company to deal with for customer service issues.
Other answers:
Is there enough distance between the walls and the cooling fins?
Or if against a window, does the sun shine on the coils?
Of course it is possible, you just got a defective unit. It happens (that's why there is a warranty).

nope
I say buy elsewhere or get a different brand of refrigerator. I had a similar problem with my Kenmore fridge a few months ago. The repairman told me it was abused somehow during shipping to the store and it knocked something around, I'm not sure. I think it was a load of BS. ANY WHO, If you'll be up at night wondering what was up, Maybe write to the company? Ask what may have caused the problem?
I've never had a problem with Kenmore, but I would accept the new fridge. If you have the same problem, try GE, also very reliable and affordable.
