ever who installed it might have put a mixing valve on it,it a simple device that keep,s you from being burned when taking a shower, but sometime,s it malfunction,s causing more cold water to come out than hot,the best you can get from one is Luke warm,i took mine off,now i get as much hot as i do cold, this may not be the case, with your,s,but it,s something to check anyway, good luck with it.
if you are connected to the gas mains, has the water heart been re lite ? or sometimes their are two valves one for hot and one for cold,
anti scald valves are the norm today and required by code. they have a stop under the handle to prevent you from turning the handle too far accidentally and burning yourself. This stop is adjustable and you need to remove the handle to get to it and change it's position. simple trial and error. remember to tell everyone in the household you have changed this setting so they don't get burned.
