My Toilet runs for a second when i turn the faucet on - what is it??

and sometimes it just runs for a second or two by itself?? any lend a hand would be greatly appreciated


Answers:    Probably the float is set too high and the marine in the cistern is right at the brink and flowing back into the internal vertical drain. Any movement are sudden shift contained by water pressure activate the float and re-satisfies the float setting. If this is the case, adjust the float to a lower setting.
It sounds similar to the valve contained by the tank might be for a moment weak. But I ain't no plumber any.
