I purchased a wine fridge. The front had to huge strips of cartridge keeping the door closed in the box, when I removed it, I very soon have stringy, sticky residue on the cup. I've tried scrubbing beside soapy water, tried pin polish remover, and alcohol. Help me please

Was the staple polish remover the kind near acetone? Because it's the acetone that is the remover.
