i have just returned from wimbledon very disapointed i spent a week looking for wombles didnt spot any why?
Answers:
It's only early Summer, and most will still be trying to get their metabloic rates up from the long Winter (Wombulus Wimbledonis are pilkio-thermic, like snakes and other Reptilia), and they will not be up-and -about until their primary food source is growing well - dandelion flowers, and the Lesser Green Caddis Flies that grub upon them. Also, having risen from the burrow, and then fed, the Wombles will return to the chamber for a prolonged rutting session with the female of the species, for around ten days.
Last week, I found some scat-pellets, so maybe some have risen very early!

Did you go to Wimbledon Common?I have seen loads there.
They are all on their Summer holidays at the moment. I think this year they are going to Germany to help with the litter problems around the World Cup venues!!
I caught 1 last year but my dog ate him.
there is a kind of magic arroud that only a person that realy believes in it is able to se them...
you have to believe, believe, believe...

They've all gone to watch the football,
they all have asbo's from the courts. not allowed to go within 2 mile or go to jail
They've moved to their holiday home which is in Brighton, they're living it up on the beach, collecting shells and stuff!
They all moved to Milton Keynes when their footie team decamped and changed its name
