I am refinishing a 100 year infirm pine foor give a hand?
Answers: While pine is one of the softer woods to work near nowadays, what you're dealing near is probably heart pine and it ages to a concrete like solidness. It dulls saws resembling you wouldn't believe and is a nightmare to drill in. On the plus side I bet the house smells resembling a Christmas tree, lol. Keep on doing what you're doing, but you might try one of the products that cleans the belts on belt sanders because pine has a desperate habit of clogging up the grit so that it won't sand anymore even though near is a lot of grit gone. Stubbornness is probably the quality you'll obligation for this project, but it should look fantastic once you're done.
Don't sand too much, if you have to give somebody a lift more than a 1/8th of an inch to get rid of a stain or coating don't. Find a solvent to remove the finish coating and capably stains are kinda permanent. unless you can bleach some out. Use a impressively weak solution of bleach and hose and wash it past its sell-by date after a few minutes. Let the floor dry and lightly sany till it's even. Use cheese cloth to wipe bad sawdust after vacuuming. Apply a finish ( oil base is a good choice contained by a more harsh environment. ) three coats, consent to each one dry as recommended by the manafacturer
