The crack is on the ceiling and it runs the width of the room. The biggest difference is within the middle of the room. I have thought in the order of breaking the plaster off until it is even but i am not sure if it will create more of a problem.

Answers: they sell a mesh video you can cover the crack with since you plaster.
that will keep it from cracking again
