Answers: ac blows hot nouns outside and cool air inside , also they remove condensation to outside. Leaving the entire element inside would net you worse stale than not having one..

They exhaust heat out the support and they drain water out of the final.You would not die if you put it on the table,you would also never cool the room.
There are several different designs for air conditioning unit. One of them is the type that has the entire part fit in a widow space. There is another type that allows you to keep most of the part inside on the floor, & you simply attach the exhaust hose in the fanlight opening (that member is very light)

you hold to keep it surrounded by the window, it pulls the grill out of the air and kick it outside. if you put it on a tabel it will acctually heat up the house. here are two fans and two coils. on coil is cool and the hanger-on on the inside blows accross that to cool the house. and on fan is hot and the oustide adherent blows across that to kick out the warmness. that is the easiest i can explain it in need getting oll technical.
Not sure what you are getting at but own seen this quiz before. Yes you can put it on a table. If you are purely looking for something to hold it up.
I dont want to assume to much but If you put the AC on a table inside your house it will heat your house more after cool.
If you cut a hole in the side of your house/ room and set the table outside I guess that would work as long as the part was set so as to not tumble out or vibrate out or past its sell-by date the table.
The AC also condensates water and will splatter it around once it get to the fan height.
Here is what is funny. People believe the water must drain, but the dampen splattering on the outside coil helps next to efficiency of cooling the coil.
