I Need help with 24 ft. above ground pool.?
Answers:
Drain it completely with a submersible pump. Scrub the hell out of it. Refill it. Change your sand in the filter. This is a long and tedious process, but worth it. Scoop, dump and repeat. When the days are averaging 85 to 90 deg. is a good time to fire up a pool. Good luck.

Yep, first answer says it all.
You will spend far more on toxic chemicals to "treat" the water, than you will on the water you will add after draining and deep cleaning. Besides that, all the Chemicals you would use, could cause the pool to be unuseable anyway, unless you are the HULK???
Water temps can be enjoyed at 72 degrees without seriosu ill effects, no matter actually the temp of the environment. Comfaort to you is subjective. I enjoy a brisk dip in the Ocean at 70 but like my pool to be closer to bath temps.

First of all, make sure that the Filter is fresh and clean. If you've done that, you're best bet would be to drain it and start with fresh water. There are thousands of of contaminates that could be in there, and the price of replacing the water is far cheaper than all the chemicals it may take to get you where you want to be.
