where this purple stain come from...

is this some sort of popular song of the 60's (or be it the 70's?)
if this isn't a joke, it could be wine, (you or friends drinking wine at the pool?) (m.d.plumb supreme will sign out a purple staine when spilled and a really stout stain when upchucked) or it could be from a recently developed antifreeze for chrystler products (past 10 or so years recent)
or from a type of wood alcohol...
y'know, none of this sounds approaching a real upright thing to hold around your pool, they are all toxic to a greater and more chancy degree than the wine.
