Hi~~ Could someone please tell me the best way to ship a wooden queen bed (no mattress) from LA to Chicago?

The bed consists of a wooden headboard, footboard and metal frame. If you have any tips on how to pack it, I would appreciate that also

Answers:
I'm pretty sure both UPS and FedEx Ground have large box shipping services of some sort. Also check with Truck shippers like Roadway or Yellow Freight. In any case, it would be best to crate it up first.
Sometimes you can ship cheaper using "backhauling" services. When a truck brings a load of freight to L.A., for example, they don't want to go back empty, so they coordinate with services to help make some money on the return trip. Search the net for "backhauling". Also keep in mind there are lots more options if drop off and pickup are at a freight terminal. Home delivery is more expensive because haulers have to be insured for it.
Any way you go, however, it won't be cheap. It needs to be a rather expensive bed or one of sentimental value to make it worth shipping.

A really big envelope! LOL

seriously I think you will need to hire a moving company
Disassemble it, box it up, send UPS. fed ex is an option, get the wieght of it first and rough dimensions of the box or boxes to find ship fees.
