Is there a website that will tell me the history of a house I want to buy?
Please help!
Answers:
That is all public record, look at the website for the county that it is in, they should have a link to a place that you can look up addresses and get info on the house such as what year it was built, if any additions have been made, how many rooms it has and the size, etc. It should also have a listing of previous sales, the date it was sold and price it was sold at for the last several transactions. If you can't find that call the county. Another resource is www.zillow.com. You put in the address and it gives you pretty much the same info and an estimated value and values of the houses surrounding it. I don't know where this website gets all of its info so I would double check it with the counties public records.

you can contact your local county tax office and ask for the appraisal records. Good luck!

If your county tax assessor/collector has a website, you should be able to find it's tax appraised value there. This value is usually less than market value. A Realtor in that area could run a comparative market analysis for you. Don't know of any website that could do this unless you deal with a Realtor.
Hi, try looking on-line for your county's property appraiser's website and input the address, you should be able to find all the info on prior sales, square footage, taxes and related stuff.
If you cannot find it on-line go to your city's website, give them a call and they should know.
