What is most important to you when buying a home? The size of the home or the size of the lot?

Buy a house with a large lot if you like to grow things and work on landscaping, or if you like to entertain friends & guests out doors.
Buy a house on a small lot if don't like outdoor maintenance or if you travel a lot.

I would rather have a 1500 sq ft house on 10 acres of land, than a 3,500 sq ft house on .25 acres of land.
People who pay 500,000$ for a big house on 0 land are out of their mind.
Land in most 'open' parts of the US is less than 1000$ an acre...

i would like both to be large. I am looking for a house right now and having trouble finding anything in my price range that I like.
