Rose Care
Recut at Least 1" off the bottom of the rose stem, Preferably under water at an angle. When you recut your roses under water it prevents the possibility of air being trapped in the stem. We cut out flower stem on an angle to provide more water to the head.

Choose a Clean glass or plastic vase that will be large enough to hold all of your roses plus lots of water. Premature wilting of your roses can be caused by a dirty vase. We suggest purchasing a new vase or bleaching your vase with chlorine bleach and scrubbing your vase clean. Use on a metal container or vase is not recommended as the metal may react with commercial available Flower food. Bleaching a metal container or vase is not recommended.

Into a clean vase add HOT water, Stemming hot is best and add flower food, if provided. Never add aspirin to your rose water, it will just clog the stems, preventing water to reach the heads. Hot water will Help to open the rose head. If no flower food is available, you may use a teaspoon of sugar added to the hot water.

Remove any leaves that my be below the water level in the vase. Do Not remove all of the thorns from the rose stem. Thorns removed above the water level in the vase may cause an air block in the rose head, thus premature wilting. Rose leaves below the water level promote bacterial growth, and clogged stems.

Regularly top off your vase with clean water, Roses are heavy drinkers and need plenty of water.
put a little bleach in the water... if you want to preserve it hang it upside down just before it's about to start wilting in the vase and it will keep it's colour even when it dries. when it has dried out completely (about a week) you can make a whole different arrangement with the dried ones
add sugar to the water, it will help it live longer and smell sweeter.
Assuming you mean a cut flower- May I suggest you contact a Florist- they have to know- / you can buy a Preservative, but on receipt of the flower, recut the stem under water- use room temp water and keep away from heat.
