Will fruit flies go away on their own if fruit source is removed?
Answers:
Yes eventually. But there is a way to kill them though. Buy some apple cider vinegar. In a glass (I use a wine glass because it is elevated, but kind of shallow) fill half full with water, then pour in some vinegar (they like the smell of this), then squirt some dish soap (like Dawn, Joy, Palmolive, just whatever you have). The vinegar will attract them, and they'll jump in, and the dish soap will make them unable to move their legs to get out and they'll drown.

Yes, but remember...time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana.
They will eventually go away or die (their life span is pretty short). Just make sure that nothing sugary or fruity gets left out for a week.
They won't go away instantly, but yes that should clear up the problem.
