Wood Pellets: Target Market?
As I am only an assitant, they do not expect me to know everything about the business yet, especially since up to now, all my experience in marketing has been in the medical field.
My question to all of you is: What is the target market for this kind of company? What kinds of business's sell these wood pellets? Or am I going to be better off selling directly to customers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Living in the Pacific Northwet where the trees are plenty, my first blush answer is to say avoid this area.
However, many people here have them, many people here get them at the local hardware store, sometimes by the pallet-full. They also sell them at the box stores. So, my answer is, unless you can undercut the boxes, and provide exceptional service (like free-to-cheap delivery), you may be better off selling to local businesses where they will use them for lost leaders.
Also be aware that pellets seem to be very seasonal at the boxes, so if you can sell while the boxes are out, it's money in the bank.
