Chalet homes advantages / disadvantages?

I am currently shopping for my first home. Several of the homes that I have looked at (from the outside) are chalet homes. I am a big follower of how they look but I have some concerns give or take a few the sructure of the homes. Some of the disadvantages I have hear:

Climbing stairs- constantly (I am still young and do not plan on this man my last home purchase)

Heating- I own heard due to adjectives the of the bedrooms being located within the upstairs portion they (the bedrooms) are several degees warmer than the lower level(s). This does concern me. Some of the homes that I hold looked have gas warmness I wonder if it would be better to have a grill pump.

Small Kitchen- I am still single hence I dont spend alot of time in the kitchen

What disadvantages am I missing and what are the advantages (if any)?


Answers:    As far as the heat goes.. newly install ceiling fans to move the upper air better. In the summer.. it may be very difficult to save the upper floors cool though. Other advantages.. no Eaves Troughs to clean surrounded by the Spring! Shingling may cost a bit more due to the Steep Slope, and the area covered.. still a 'Very Nice Choice'.. I expect they look great.. and any home has its advantages/disadvantages.. Gud Luck..
