A 30ish guy came to my door at night selling candy. It seemed shady. Should I be worried about crime?

Answers:
I would be.

Other answers:
Uh... yeah. Unless he was blind, there is some cause for concern.

Yeah, once a guy came to my house for a week selling "pancakes" and the next week my house was robbed.
that sounds fishy. i would have called the police. sometimes a person will do that, just to get you to open the door.
Yes! I bet he was just seeing if anyone was home, or trying to see inside to see what you got. Right down his description and stuff just in case anything happens.
of course you should of called 911. alot of people are robbed and killed by such antics. be careful.
Call the police now!
That is suspicious behavior.
Please Take Care!
of course....
I think u should take caution. Who knows what kinds of lunatics are out there in the world. The candy might have had poison in it.
Yes I would worry. Do what I did - Get a pitbull.
I would be worried about Candy. He shouldn't be exploiting her that way. How much did he want?
Maybe he's a kid with a weird aging disorder... Nah he's probably just a coach selling for his team.
Yep...lock your doors, close your shades, and call the police department. Ask them if they were aware if a company is in the area selling candy. Make sure that all of your windows are locked and keep your lights on for awhile. Criminals will usually try something like that to scope out a house. Keep your porch lights on. I am not trying to worry you, just make yourself a harder target to hit, and have 911 on your speeddial.
Yes. Notify the authorities immediately. It could be a delicious new chocolate shop down the block, but it could also be a man trying to rape or kill people. Make sure that the neighborhood is safe.
most probably u should. the question u need to ask is, is't normal for people to sale candy at nite. at my place, it's weird things. u better take precaution
Sounds to me like a pedophile looking to see if kids are home alone at night, or a prowler seeing if a woman was at home alone. Next time don't even answer the door. Call the police immediately. You were right to think that something wasn't right. Good catch.
Definitely. If he was a teen or a kid I might be ok with it, but most adults don't go around selling candy door to door. That is usually a youth fundraiser. I would say that if you see him in the neighborhood again, get a good look and call the police. Tell them you are concerned because he is selling candy door to door at night and that you don't know for sure that he is doing anything wrong but that you would feel much safer if someone would send a car out to patrol the neighborhood.

He could have been trying to see if a man or a woman was home, if anyone was home at all, or even just trying to get a good look inside to see if there was anything of value.
WELLLL.... i am a psychotherapistanalyzer. The real question you should be asking is how many Twix bars was he offering. This number divided by two multiplied by your phone number equals the amount of money i make every year. I AM RICH. filthy rich. some people call me richy rich but my name is not rich but i am rich HAHAHAHAHAHAH. just remember only you can prevent tooth decay. I LIKE PANCAKES> YAY PANCAKES.
not trying to scare you or anything
but he may have been checking
to see if you live alone he may be watching you
to try and do you harm i would call the police just to be sure
it may deter him
Yes.. its a scam , they probably got the candy half price and told you they were selling it for charity
nobody should sell anything door to door after dark- dont let them inside- EVER
