How can I get rid of a mole in my backyard?
Answers:
Ted,
There is many ways to get rid of Moles in the yard. If they are in the garden use your water hose and flood their hole. They will drowned and the decompose is good fert for the garden. If they are in the yard in general you can get a mole trap, use the peppermint oil on cotton ball, and you can put a dish of coke(soda) out by the hole, or you can place some rat poison down the hole for them to eat and it will kill them. You can also get those pinwheels and place them in the yard all around they are scared of them and they will move on. You will have to put several out or they will just move away from them. I hope this helps you with your problem.

Got an air rifle? Might be fun. If you want less fun, try poison. Just be careful no neighbor's pets wander in.
get a mole trap
Gosh, I don't know. I have one on my back that I've been trying to get rid of for years, but it's still there. My doctor tells me not to worry about it - it's benign.
real pepermint oil put it on cotton balls and throw them into its hole
rodents are allergic to it
Get a dog. Preferably a hunting dog. We had holes dug all over our yard, but by golly we did not have moles anymore. I just trimmed grass edges and replanted the pieces in the dug out areas. All was well, after a little work from me and my dog. LOL, good luck. This is actually true. Quick efficient, but some work from me. I decided that it was better than dead grass from mole hills and runs.
You could buy a mole trap if you want to kill it, If not the try a repellent like Cayenne pepper.
Can't you just co -exist? Gees, it's a frigging mole. Vanity kills again for the sake of the "Jones" award.
juicyfruit gum. trust me. put a peice in the hole and they eat it and die. but you do not want to know how it kills them.
Someone post a serious answer, I have the dam things- my yard looks like someone Roto tilled it.
Half these answers are hilarious, but I've heard the peppermint thing works great. I bought a beagle and that worked better. Until someone stole him. Stupid beagle was cute as a button and great at killing moles. Apparently, my neighborhood HAD a mole problem (until I bought a community beagle). Good luck!
Road flares or gopher bombs: As soon as you see a fresh hole, dig it until you get to the main tunnel. Light two road flares and quickly push them both into the hole. The choking smoke will start rising out of the hole into your face so you have to work very quickly. Cap the top of the hole (throw an aluminum plate, stepping stone or something over it and quickly shovel dirt over it to keep the smoke inside.
I used to use gopher bombs and would light two and throw them in the gopher tunnel (one is not enough).
I told my neighbor about it and he spoke to a gardener who suggested he try road flares (easier to ignite also easier to find) instead. He tried it and said it worked to solve his gopher problem
I bought a mole trap and was only able to use it successfully once. I think they got smart.
Too bad we don't have a gopher beagle. We once had a neighborhood cat that was very effective (and patient) with getting rid of the critters.
