It's getting cool here immediately at nights. And cooler during the light of day. That should help. Rub some Vaseline on the inside if you form it so it doesn't dry out as quickly.
I own bought pumpkins in October, and still have them in the Spring!!! I have even kept them outside in my courtyard. As long as you keep them on a dry surface they should closing just fine till at most minuscule Halloween. If the underside gets raining, that's when they begin to rot and mold underneath.
Try also to hold on to them out of the hot, direct sun all afternoon.
