Answers:
I am a contractor I have used pella product for years, you should have no problems at all...they are very good..there are better but they are also unaffordable...pella does a good job of getting the order cut to the right size, i have never had a hardware problem, and if you encounter an issue their customer service is great....as far as the finish goes it would help to have more info ..if its knotty pine and you want the rustic look ,clear coat it with sealer and varnish do not use laquer, if it is flat pine you may want to stain it to match or compliment your exsisting decor. Usually pine , unless its knotty has little or no interesting grain pattern , if this is the case with your door consider enameling it.
