Do solar powered fountains work?

I have a milieu sized pond that is surrounded by a shaded area of my garden. I've see a solar powered fountain but I'm not sure if it will work. I live in the Manchester nouns so not a lot of sun.
Should I buy one?


Answers:    My experience have been that the solar-powered ones are not incredibly powerful, and often don't work at adjectives, such as on a cloudy day. There are adaptors you can purchase that bring in it so you can place the solar panels within a different area than the fountain so that if you are surrounded by shade, you can theoretically place the panel in the sun, but even this channel does not seem to hand over the fountain much "oomph." If it were me, I'd accumulate my money and buy a "real" (i.e., AC current powered) fountain with a reliable pump allows me to correct the power/output, and will run whenever I want it to, instead of only when the cosmos allign and conditions are of late right.
