I HAVE HAD ALL THESE PLANTS OVER A PERIOD OF 30 YEARS OR SO. SOME ARE FOR BRIGHT LIGHT, NOT DIRECT LIGHT, BUT I HAVE HAD VERY GOOD LUCK WITH JUST NORMAL ROOM LIGHTING. THERE ARE A LOT OF FOLIAGE PLANTS THAT HAVE GREAT COLOR, TOO.

Peace Plant has a nice white lily-like flower and does well in low light.

the classic Ivy plant is another one.. this plant is hard to kill grows great runners does well with or without light.. it does not have flowers though.. if you want a tall one when you get your ivy put a stick in the center of plant and run some runneers up it and it will grow straight up instead of all around..
I only know the name of this plant in spanish so you wiil have to ask to someone who knows better.The name is Cuna de Moises which means Moses Cradle , it is an inside plant and has flowers and looks beautiful.
