No, you cannot start an aloe in water. It will rot.
It is a succulent, like a cactus, and thrives in dirt with little water.
Take a little plant of aloe, taken from the mother plant. Then set it in cactus soil-for cacti-and water it a tiny bit, then let it dry out. Think desert! It will start new shoots in a couple of weeks, and be very tiny. Leave it alone, and don't keep it wet.
Water it only when the pieces starts to look wrinkled.
Or go buy one at the store for $2.

No because you cant take a leaf of an aloe vera. There is no such ting . Aloe Vera comes from cactusses(probaly did not spell that right) you know the spikey thing in the dessert?
And watter would killl it if you had a cactusse. Its in side of the hard shell of the cactusse. And they Dont Have leafs.

No. Comes from the parent plant so with that small guy, you can put it in another pot and it will grow but not from the leaf as you call it.
