I would look in the Sunday paper of your town in the classified section for "garage" and "estate sales." You can find great pieces there. They may not match, but your in luck.......the "Shabby Chic" look is in. If you are living near a military base, check their papers too. When military families move from one base to another (especially overseas), they are given a strict weight limit. Therefore, they may be over that limit, and need to get rid of furniture fast. This is probably the best way to get cheap furniture, that is of GOOD quality. Well all know that Ikea is cheap, but let's face it, the furniture is crap. Now, if you need accessories, like pictures, lamps, knick knacks, then by all means, go to Ikea. Also, flea markets are a great place to find decorative accessories and art. Good luck.

Ikea, of course, but also look in the trading post - it comes out every Thursday. All the best!
craigslist.com and also many thrift shops and goodwill have nice items. good luck and enjoy college
IKEA is not only cheap but it has avariety of colourful items! - hopefully you like colour -Although it is cheap, it is high - qaulity and I STRONGLY reccomend it.
If you have a Homesense in your area it is good too, for plates, decor, pillows, chairs and couches, and it is cheap. The plates there are about $1.99 and they are really pretty.
For advice, don't go to any dollar store or cheapy furniture store, it just cost more in the end.
Good Luck on your home!
