We had a real ficus tree years ago. I guess I don't have a green thumb - it kept dropping all the leaves til it was bare. We ended up with an artificial one - I still have it :)

Garden Centers. Try a floral shop that also sells green plants and trees. They should be able to order one for you-the ficus with the braided trunk are soooo beautiful! I know exactly where to find one if you live anywhere near Minnesota.
Ficus are a genus of about 800 species of woody trees, shrubs and vines in the family Moraceae, native throughout the tropics with a few species extending into the warm temperate zones.
Common know species of the family include The fig tree and the Banyan Tree from india.
You need to go to a good garden centre, they are pretty common plants and I am sure you will find one without too much effort.
