Yes......they just found a new kind of termite here that was brought in a pot plant from a person that had to relocate here due to Hurricane Rita. So that is one way.

I am not going to move to a wooden flat/house. It's silly and environmentally not friendly to use wood for houses in 21st century.
I would suggest leaving them where they are.

Maybe if they are in your things that you are taking with you, they could infest that home as well.
You can take any type of pest with you when you move, travel, etc. Their eggs are most likely there as well. You will need to do a complete pest control to rid yourself of anything carried with you. Also, make sure you do the furniture, boxes, anything and everything, inside and out.
