wasps prey on spiders and other insects. Some wasps eat cockroaches and others eat ants. This helps to keep a balance in nature.

You may as well ask why do we have humans.
To sting us!
Wasps play an important role in our planet's ecosystem. There are many types of wasp, and depending upon the species, their roles vary. Some hunt spiders, while others feed on a variety of different insects. Still others help to pollinate plants.
I think the reason we have them is that they perform a unique function in the interaction of all of the earth's animals and fauna - and that the Creator deemed them important enough to include.
why do we have other creatures???????
so i can catch the little ba-----s by half filling a beer bottle with water and smearing jam around the top and it works
I do not know why but i HATE them. I am absolutely TERRIFIED of them to the point that during the summer i am stuck in the house to scared to go out. They are ruining my summer. I am supposed to be going to teneriffe for Christmas and i am scared in case there is loads of wasps.
Did you know that if we put all the insects in the world on one side of a scale, and put all the mammals, including humans on the other side of the scale, the insect side would be heavier.
same reason as we have bee,s i guess, they,r all little blighters
Things do not have to have a human use in order to exist. They exist to perpetuate themselves...much like humans and cockroaches.
I agree they have no use unlike bees, i just had to pay 50 pounds for a wasp nest to be removed from my house walls grrrrr.
we have wasps because they were put here on earth to
bother you.my daughter got stung this summer I had to
put mud on her hand and it hurt me to see her in pain.
wasp are very benefical to the enviroment. i don,t like to be stung any better than you do, but i don,t like being snake bit either (yes i have ben) wasp eat a lot of more harmful insects that eat our food in the fields. if we had no wasp we would have to use more poisons in order to raise enough food to survive, and that,s a no wins situation if you do stir up a wasp nest unaware hold perfectly still then they will not sting you. wait until they calm down and sneak away very slowly and quietly. afterwards stay away from their lair. you will benifit and the enviroment will too good luck
for getting rid of other insects you don't like and can't see.
I dunno but i hate bees a lot..
