My guess is you'll find that piece of the neighborhood is nicer than the rest...People there will treat each other with respect...They'll go to church every Sunday and welcome each other there...They'll work and pay taxes...They'll send their kids to school and soccer camp...They'll plant a garden and paint an American flag on the mailbox.
And they'll keep their sex lives to their bedrooms, just like all the straight-folk do.

Hey there is nothing wrong with living near a gay community. They are people too. You should just treat them the same way you would treat anybody else. I have gay and lesbian friends and find them no different that any of my hetrosexual friends. What happens in the bedrooms is nobody elses business.
yes, i lived near Hollywood, Ca for almost 8yrs. Needless to say, a lot of my friends were gay. They are ppl just like u and me. There's nothing wrong with them, or with u living in a gay community. My experience has been they won't approach you with their lifestyle. Gay ppl also need friends, so if someone who is gay approaches u just be ur self and the same as u would with anyone else. This wouldn't mean they want or expect u to have the same lifestyle. My husband is a tattoo artist, so yes, i am aware the gay color is purple, and he has tattood a lot of rainbows. Enjoy your new community...
Yep. I lived in Hillcrest for a while in San Diego. Now I live in Imperial Beach. Hillcrest was fun! They have the BEST clubs. They are great people.
Why does gayness bother you so much by the way? Would you act the same way if an all black community moved in there instead? Or an all girls only community? Or an all deaf community? I am not gay, but do live in a gay community (or close to one) My wife and I love it. The neighbors are very attentive to their lawns and their property. I never hear about any crime really. My wife feels safe walking at night. Don't see anything wrong with it. You don't have to condone or become gay to live in a gay community. You just have to be a little more open minded, and accept that people are people. Doesn't matter their sexual preference, or anything else.

When you were looking for a place to live- do you answer rental ads that said " down and out" apply here or "cheap people" need only apply??? houses are not not made for a specific gender or people "types" .When you refer to a "gay Community" you are placing a label and on people, land or a certain area. people are no different then you and I. We chose to view each other in different ways, this is very dangerous. Sooner or later you will be the target of this discrimination. How would this personally effect you and your life?
