Can I grow an apricot tree from seeds? If so, when is a good time to plant? We live in Phoenix, AZ.?
Answers:
You may be able to grow a tree, but it is highly unlikely it will produce edible fruit. You could however grow the tree by putting the seeds in a pot of compost and water them occasionally. Leave them in a warm but not hot place until they start growing. Transfer to a larger pot as they grow and plant outside in Spring. You then come to the tricky bit, you have to graft a cutting from a good quality tree to the 'stock' tree you are growing and hope it 'takes'. If it does, it will grow successfully and produce fruit in about five years time. It would be less stressful if you just bought a young tree from a nursery...............

yes, you sure can. To accelerate the process, crack the core lightly and then put it in some good potting soil and a small pot. Keep the soil moist and put it in a warm place - be careful not to have too much sun (or it will dry too fast). Best time is early fall. Do several of them - because not all will establish.
