Can someone lend a hand me identify this plant?

It has long prevailing conditions width green leaves growing from a single stalk that appears to turn into wood the taller the plant get. It is about 5.5 foot tall. It have just sprouted a stalk covered next to buds that have some type of sap coming from it. I hold had this plant nearly 20 years and it has never have this budding stalk.

It's definately a healthy plant though! They won't bloom resembling that unless if all the conditions are rite. The corn plant is a unbelievably popular indoor plant.
Good Luck, ;-)
I don't know what it's called, but my Grandma have one that sounds just similar to it!
