Why doesn't incense set sour my smoke alarm?

My smoke alarm is so sensitive that even with a plastic pod over it, it goes past its sell-by date within moments of frying any food. Even if the food isn't burning, the smoke alarm go off right away.

Yet, I can burn an entire cone or stick of incense and the smoke alarm does not budge off. I can see the actual smoke coming out, and it doesn't set past its sell-by date the alarm!

Why?

Answers:    Because it is not a thick smoke approaching a real fire
maybe by the time the incense smoke has reach the alarm its thinned out, whereas cooking smoke is much thicker.
smoke alarm will set off if it see the smoke as gas (gas range); fumes; and the like. but smoke from incense or candles, it won't as it is not hazardous to human's form.
If you had similar to 20 incense burning at the same time it might set it past its sell-by date. Smoke alarms are designed to trace thick smoke resembling uhhhhhhh....house fire!!!! My moms always would jump off when she would burn toast or cook a frozen pizza...Who know?????
