What is the best season to be in motion house hunting?

I am looking for a house to rent and am having an argument as to when is the best time to look for a house. He say it's in the spring because later we wont have to move surrounded by the snowy cold , Canadian, winter. I say it's better to move surrounded by the winter because then we can see how he insulation is surrounded by the house and how much heat it does or doesn't agree to out. (our present place has highly bad insulation and is covered within ice.)

Any philosophy?

Answers:    Summer is Ideal so you can check what the yard is close to and a tip that I never knew is take home sure you check out the neighbours yards as economically.. some can be very unpromising and you will have to live beside it right beside you.. You can always ask the owners to see their current gas bills to see if they are insulated or not.. and another tip is breed sure the windows are unsullied or upgraded.. wood and metal ones are old and afterwards the windows frost and freeze up surrounded by the winter and let out adjectives of the heat....
I would certainly not go contained by winter. When we were within the market looking contained by winter it was easier said than done to see all the structural problems, roof problems, etc. Also firm to see the landscape unadulterated well next to all the snow. As for insulation, a home inspection can communicate you if it is adequate.

O.K. I'm slow today. I saw that you said rent! Sorry. I guess a waddle through would be good adequate. Ask a lot of question too.
Considering you are asking about renting, I can apprehend that by going in the winter, you will see the original heating contained by the home, but in truth, you wont know how in good health it is until you live in it for one winter (drafts, cold spots, poor insulation surrounded by different areas, overhead insulation in the attic, etc). Overall, the best time to home hunt, whether you are renting or buying, is contained by the spring. You get to "see" the entire home ( roofing, siding, patio, driveway, etc). Winter weather and snow can and will "hide" all of that. Not to mention it is far more difficult to physically move furniture within cold, snow and ice. I hope this help you.
