A racing pigeon has stopped in my garden and will not leave after two days. Who do I contact?

If you'd rather not go close to the pigeon I would call the RSPB (or whatever your countries alternative is). They'll come and check the pigeon over for injuries and will be able to contact the owners on the ring. I would do this today because there is one very worried owner out there, fretting about where their pigeon is

If it is a racing pigeon it should have an identification ring on it's leg
check the tag on its leg, usually a phone number on it as well as an ID number. Its not unusuall for pigeons to suffer exhaustion, they will leave when they are ready, but it could be hurt. Approach it and pick it up, they are well used to being handled.
You need to try to hold it (it should be used to this) and take the number off the ring on his leg.
Try to find a pigeon club in the phone book, or ask at your local pub if they know of any pigeon clubs.
Or you could see if anyone in your area keeps pigeons (look up for lots flying together) they will know who to contact.

That if it does not have a tel number on a little ring on its ankle [that's who it belongs to] ! good luck or and don't touch it , pick it up in a cover because you don't know where it has been since flying off it could have anything handle with care!
