I have an above ground pool w/filter & pump and the water is very murky. We are on a well so no city water.?

There is a product out that is a precipitant. Makes all the "stuff" fall out of the water so it can be vacuumed up. I wish I could remember the name but any pool store would have it.

You dont mention if you use chlorine in the water. The only thing I can suggest is because you are using well water make sure the chlorine is at correct level, check PH levels often. Sunlight tends to evaporate the chlorine.

You need to take a water sample to a place that sells pool supplies and have the water checked, they can advise you on what you need to add to the water, there are alot of things that can affect the water, such as hardness, calcium levels, ph levels if ph levels aren't stabilized before adding some chemiclas you are wasting your time putting the chemicals in. Sun block can also leave a residue in the pool, and you will notice a greasy ring around the pool after awhile. So best option is to have the water tested . Good Luck
I agree. Take a water sample to a pool store for testing. Tell them you are on well water and ask them to test Calcium hardness, Total dissolved solids, and metals. That should put you on the right track. Also tell them you have lots of sunscreen used. They have an enzyme blend that will digest the oils and turn it to smoke!
