why can't i grow any thing in my back yard? ( my only yard)?

i have some grass and thats mostly it
does any one have any helpfull suggestions

Answers:
You can't, because you don't try. Pull out grass by ploughing the earth with some sharp edged weapon available for gardening. Get some seeds or saplings from the market ansow them and water them regularly. You will see a grand kitchen garden in your backyard.

Try roses ... I have great luck with them and that's about it ... nothing else will grow in my yard

Don't brag about growing grass unless you wanna get busted, cuz you don't know who's watching
YES BUY SOM PLANTS AND DO IT DUH ?
Do you by chance have pine trees in the yard? If you do, they are making the soil to alkaline for anything much to grow. Call your County Extension Office for advice.
