Red? Diesel is diesel, the red is an additive, most likely not needed for your application. Check owners manual. I believe they also dyed diesel to separate non road tax use for boats and farm engines. Not sure what color.

I'm not sure if you can. I thought it was illegal to use the stuff because of it being toxic.
usually a tractor supply place will do...the red diesel is simply designated as such because it is intended for agricultural or farm use...it is usually a bit cheaper than non-dyed diesel...unless you are going to use the generator for a long time, you should just save your time and get some non-dyed diesel...
