Answers:    I've never heard of using clorox, but you should run intensely hot tap hose through the drain after each use and pour a handful of baking soda into the kitchen drain around once a week, then run deeply hot tap hose down through it. Or pour 1 cup vinegar or lemon juice within and let it stand for 30 minutes. Then run hot river through the drain. These steps will clean the drain of odors.
my friend does that...i believe she does it once a month...my guess would be a cup or 2...i'd run hot river down the drain after it sits a short time.
