what size dehumidifier do i need?
We have a small humidity guage in the bedroom that normally reads 60% humidity, but this increases to 75% after the shower is used twice.
As long as the bedroom door is kept closed, do we need a dehumidifier that is large enough to handle the 290sq ft or does it really need capacity to handle the entire 1000sq ft?
The condo is kept at 75 degrees between the hours of 5:30pm-7:30am, but is kept at 80 degrees between 7:30am-5:30pm.
What size Pint Capacity dehumidifier do we need based on these facts? Thank you!
Answers:
In my opinion, none.
A small wall mounted, ducted suction fan in the ensuite bathroom with a valve panels to lock air in the condo when the fan is off will suffice, at a fraction of the cost. It will look like part of the wall, blending almost invisible, and the switch can be connected to the master light switch at the bathroom door. This is the system I have set up at home, and with the fan on I can be showering in 105 degree water without steaming up the room.

100 pint or go down to your local Lowes or Home Depot they should have the needed slide rule to figure out size dehumidifier you will need
or call your local heating and air contractor and have central heat and air installed with new duct work
