i dont want them dead i just wish they would stay off my deck and out of walkways they have no concept of personal space we usually see a few over the summer but this year its at least 2 sightings per day what could i use to deter them they are ruining our outdoor time we don't enjoy the yard and garden and rubber boots leave bad tan lines we live in nb canada

We occasionally see garter snakes around the yard, especially this time of year. If I walk by one, I may a little startled by it's sudden movement, but no more so than if a bird were to dart out from a nearby tree.
