Will tulips survive and rebloom in a v. cold climate?
Answers:
I live in northern Indiana and I have tulips in my garden that come up every year! As a matter of fact they almost double every year!
I do have about an inch and a half of cypress mulch on them. Depending on how cold, I would say if you mulch them they should be fine!
I got this from Spring Hill Nursery:
Botanical Name: Tulipa Varieties Generic
Form: Bulb
Sun Exposure: Partial Shade/Full Sun
Height/Habit: 16 - 28" depending on variety
Spread: 4" - 6"
Spacing: 4 - 6"
Hardiness Zone: 3 - 8 (-30 F)
Foliage Type: Grey-green , linear or broadly ovate
Flower Form: Upright, bell or funnel shaped, some are multi-floral
Flower Color: A kaleidoscope of bright colors blended for a carefree, exciting springtime show.
Flowering Date: Mid to late spring depending on variety
Planting Requirements: Large flowered varieties - set bulbs 6"- 8" deep, small flowered or species 3" - 4" deep
Soil Requirements: Well drained
Growth Rate: Fast once established
Unique Characteristics: Wonderful in cut flower arrangements.
Pruning: None, except to remove spent flower stems
Time of Pruning: After flowering
Additional Information: It is important to leave the foliage to mature and die down naturally and not cut it back
Good luck.

They actually need to freeze in order to bloom in the spring. Give it a shot and see what happens. We have tulips in Iowa and it gets very cold here.
