How should I open my windows so I keep my apartment cool without air conditioning?

Should I open certain windows during the day and close others at night?

Answers:
open windows at night and leave open until it starts getting warm during the day, and then close them and the curatains/blinds, and reopen when it starts to cool down again at night. A fan during the day will help move the air in a room as well.

Other answers:
why don't you get a fan
why don't you get a fan
open all windows at day, keep half open at night.
You should open them on different sides of the house. That way you get a breeze going thru the whole house. Look for windows that are far apart but have a somewhat strait line to each other. Not to many turns.

Also try to determin what way the breeze blows where you are.
open what ever ones you want during the day(when your there) and close the ones that can be climbed through at night.
open windows at opposite ends of the house and put fans between them and keep the doors in between em open, it will create a kind of wind tunnel and cause the air to keep flowing, that should do it.
place fan in window when u open it blow out when its hot out and in when its cool out also do not open curtains on a sunny winddow this will let heat in
get husky dogs, they live in the snow. they should cool your house down. if that doesn't work - get a polar bear.
Well I live in a 4 room apartment and bath and I do have ceiling fans in every room but bathroom..........I put my blines down half way and close them.........and open the windows and put the ceiling fans on medium ............and it stays cool all day............I only have one window in each room but the front room and two of them I open...........Hope this helps
When the weather is hot, I opened all the windows at night to get the cool air in. Then closed them in the morning to trap the cool air in the house. Pull the shades down half way to keep the sun from beating hot rays in the house. If you leave your windows opened during the the hot days, your house will be just as hot as outdoors because all that hot air is coming in your house. I did this before I got an air conditioner and it worked great
Try using a reflective (mirror) film on your windows to reduce the heat caused by the sun and use an electric fan to circulate the air more.
take one ordinary household hammer
permanently open all windows using this device
you only have to do this once
Keep as many windows open at night or early am with fans to pull air in one and point another fan towards a window at the other end of the house so that you have your own little arctic front going on. When the sun comes up, close the windows, with a light shade over them covered with a dark curtain or drape and turn the air on low and put a fan in front of it to keep the house cool all day for the least amount of money.
Don't open your windows. It just draws the heat in. Close your windows in the day time and and night keep them open when it cools down. And buy a small fan.
