Do people in Europe generally dislike dandelions as much as people in North America dislike dandelions?

I love these beautiful and useful plants. I occasionally pull them out of the flower and vegetable beds, but I would never pull a dandelion out of my lawn unless I had a specific reason to do so --such as to use the roots. Really, I try not to be judgmental, But it is difficult for me to take the dandelion haters seriously.

Answers:
Just like the USA, I'm sure that there are some homeowners that look upon dandelions as unsightly weeds. I can tell you that in much of the UK, France, and Germany, they are not looked down upon as much as they are in the USA. In many places, they are actively harvested for salad greens and to a lesser extent, are made into wine.

Many people in my part of the USA still harvest the young plants in the spring along with other "wild greens".

Good luck with your gardening.
